Not a trend sport, but an established force
Pickleball is a ball sport from the USA that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Although the sport is similar to tennis, there are a few differences. The most important point is the speed of the ball. This is around a third of the average speed of a tennis ball. This makes it easier for beginners, children and senior citizens in particular to get into the sport. Another point is the size of the court. One third of a tennis court is required for a game. A pickleball court can be set up quickly and only requires a hard surface. A net, two rackets and a specially perforated ball are sufficient for a successful game. Various options for setting up a pickleball court The right surface is crucial for an optimal pickleball experience. The surface must be hard enough for the ball to bounce optimally. For this reason, playing surfaces such as grass, long artificial turf, brick dust or uneven surfaces are not suitable for pickleball.
